Our graduate school was founded in 2008 as IMPRS for Heart and Lung Research. After 12 successful years, continued innovation within our faculty and curriculum drove us to change the name of the school in 2020 to "IMPRS for Molecular Organ Biology". The IMPRS for Molecular Organ Biology (IMPRS-MOB) is an excellent graduate program hosted by the MPI for Heart and Lung Research in Bad Nauheim and works in close collaboration with Goethe University (Frankfurt) and Justus Liebig University (Gießen). We are dedicated to train, mentor and educate young and talented doctoral students in life sciences and beyond. Our structured graduate program covers all cellular and molecular aspects that control physiological and pathophysiological processes of organ systems. We have some focus on the vascular and cardiopulmonary system but also cover other areas such as the metabolic and immune system as well as tumor biology.
IMPRS-MOB has established excellent training opportunities for young scientists who will need to integrate molecular, cellular, organ and whole organism levels of complex biological systems to tackle the most important future scientific challenges. Scientific experts from all over the world work together in an rich scientific environment supported by state-of-the-art service facilities in the field of imaging, proteomics, bioinformatics, next generation sequencing and generation of transgenic animals (mouse and zebra fish).
Our overall aim is to provide an outstanding environment for talented, young researchers to start an academic career in life sciences.
