Initially the successful candidate starts as an Assistant Professor with a qualification agreement for a fixed term tenure phase of six years. After successful completion of the qualification goals, the position will be converted into a permanent Associate Professor position.
The professorship will be responsible for establishing psycholinguistic research as a new focus within the profile of the Department of Psychology. It has a strong foundation in theoretical linguistics and conducts empirical, cross-linguistic research on language processing and language change in connection with psychological processes of cognition and emotion, using both behavioural and neuroscientific methods (for instance affective computing). The research is interdisciplinary and aligns with the context of the field of excellence COLIBRI (Complexity of Life in Basic Research and Innovation) and the university network Brain and Behaviour. Networking and collaborating with other departments and conducting research on language is explicitly encouraged. In teaching, the position supports all curricula at the Department of Psychology (bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral studies in Psychology, as well as teacher training programme in Psychology and Philosophy).
The successful candidate will be highly motivated, aiming for academic excellence and integrity in research and teaching. He/she will have demonstrated ability to collaborate constructively in a responsible manner and inspire colleagues and students in an interdisciplinary, internationally oriented context.
