Over de werkgever

Université Paris-Est (UPE) was created on 21 March 2007 and groups together a community of 22 universities and institutions with highly diverse missions under the supervision of different government ministries : universities, a veterinary school, hospital centres, engineering and architecture schools, research institutes, operating agencies and technical centres.

It is focused on both the public and private sectors and seeks to build close links between research and general, technical and professional learning, underpinning a multi-disciplinary, cutting-edge university that can compete on the international stage with strong links between research, life-long training, expertise and knowledge transfer.

UPE is in charge of a number of strategical skills that were transfered by its members. It deals with doctoral training and professional integration of PhD students, awards the PhD degree as well as the HDR (Habilitation à diriger des recherches; post-doctoral diploma giving accreditation to direct research) and drives two thematic clusters: Ville, Environnement et leurs Ingénieries (City, Environment and related Engineering processes) and Santé & Société (Health & Society). UPE also shapes a space of scientific cooperation which coordinates pedagogical and scientific projects and initiatives to showcase research, in particular for those selected at the Investissements d'Avenir programme (Investment in the Future): Labex – Idefi– Equipex – SATT.
