Sobre el empleador

Texas A&M AgriLife Research is the state’s premier research agency in agriculture, natural resources, and the life sciences. We conduct hundreds of projects spanning many scientific disciplines to deliver life-sustaining and industry-changing impacts to citizens throughout Texas and around the world. We are a state agriculture agency part of Texas A&M AgriLife, which allows us to fund research across many fields.

We do so by partnering with research institutes and our research centers across the state. We also fund much of the expert researchers at the Texas A&M College of Agriculture & Life Sciences academic departments, which are:

Texas A&M AgriLife Research also partners with researchers in the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Our research partners there include the following departments:

Veterinary Integrative Biosciences
Compares domestic and feral horse populations to differentiate the effects of human and natural selection. Identifies methods for reducing pathogen contamination of produce at the pre-harvest level. Discovering novel methods for preventing Lyme disease. Developed new therapies to mitigate dietary risk factors for disease in humans and animals. Based on this work, Texas A&M University has launched two companies: Texas Enterosorbents, Inc., and Salient Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

Veterinary Pathobiology
Investigates genetic determinants of disease resistance in animals. Develops vaccines for economically significant infectious agents. Identifies potential targets for new antimicrobial agents. Focuses on infectious agents that affect animals and people. Investigates development of antibiotic resistance in bacteria. Genetic and nutritional basis of wildlife and exotic animal health. Studies biological and nutritional basis of cardiovascular disease.

Veterinary Physiology and Pharmacology
Cutting-edge research addressing the One Health concept, including studies on risk assessment, endocrine disruptors, nuclear receptors, and effects of toxicants on the gut microbiome; research on mammalian reproduction, ranging from genetic modification to developmental programming; and studies on the mechanisms underlying cardiovascular health and disease, from molecule to whole animal or human.
