You have a part to play!
A world with an increasing number of questions needs people who contribute solutions. It needs critical thinkers who take a hands-on approach. People who want to explore, discover, try, fail, and succeed, from a variety of positions and backgrounds — all of whom share the ambition to find solutions for the world around us. We need you to join us in testing the limits and thinking outside the box.
Radboud University is active in many different disciplines. At our university, research and education go hand in hand. We share the world-class facilities on our campus in Nijmegen with the Radboud university medical center. Some of these are even world famous, such as the HFML-FELIX, the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics, and the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition, and Behaviour.
The atmosphere is open, friendly, and personal. This encourages the exchange of knowledge between colleagues, especially across disciplinary boundaries. It is exciting to look beyond what lies in front of you, and to discover new perspectives. Curiosity is what drives us — in science as well as in society.

Education and Research for tomorrow’s solutions
We want to get the best out of science, others, and ourselves. Why? Because this is what the world around us desperately needs. Leading research and education make an indispensable contribution to a healthy, free world with equal opportunities for all. This is what unites the more than 22,000 students and 5,000 employees who work and study at Radboud University.
At our 7 faculties and 15 research institutes, academic researchers from approximately 100 countries explore virtually all scientific domains. Our open and personal culture challenges researchers and lecturers from different disciplines to look beyond the boundaries of their own field, to seek each other out, and to collaborate.
Radboud University has about 40 Bachelor’s programmes, and over 70 Master’s programmes of top quality. Over the past eight years, and including 2019, we have achieved first place seven times in the “Keuzegids Universiteiten” (university selection guide):

Everyone counts: diversity on campus
We are open to differences and respect each other. Radboud University has always been a freethinking university. Our university was founded in 1923 to emancipate Catholics in the Netherlands, and still strives for equality. Students and staff members with different backgrounds, countries, and cultures are welcome.
Looking for tomorrow’s solutions requires us to look beyond today’s boundaries. More diversity equals more creativity and innovation. This is why we strive for inclusivity and diversity in our staff. We do our utmost to appoint and retain men and women of different nationalities in all positions. And we make sure that our new international staff members are warmly welcomed and properly supported. Our bilingual campus and our additional focus on intercultural communication ensure that many staff members from outside the Netherlands quickly feel at home at our university.
Nijmegen: Old city, young vibe
Despite being the oldest city in the Netherlands, Nijmegen remains young at heart. Nijmegen is known for its cultural events, festivals, music venues and arthouse cinemas. It is an ever-vibrant city, both during the day and at night. You can endlessly wander the large city parks and winding streets without getting bored. Between the historic buildings and the many cafes, pubs and shops, there is plenty to keep you occupied. Perhaps you would rather walk along the Waal River or cycle across it. You may want to head to the city beaches, the Ooijpolder, or Germany. Whichever way you go, Nijmegen will only get greener! The city was even named the European Green Capital in 2018.
