The Munich Quantum Valley (MQV) is an initiative by the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities (BAdW), the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft (FhG), the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), the German Aerospace Center (DLR), the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU), the Max Planck Society (MPG), and the Technical University of Munich (TUM).
The mission of MQV is to establish Quantum Computation and Quantum Technologies in Bavaria by creating a unique hub for quantum sciences and technologies (QST) in the Munich metropolitan region. The excellent educational and research institutions as well as the dynamic industrial and venture high-tech environment of the Munich region offer ideal conditions for pursuing this goal. Other important Bavarian and national research institutions and universities with strong activities in QST will be efficiently connected to MQV and participate in its activities.
A core goal of MQV is to attract top-level international young talent in the field of QST to Bavaria. To this end, it organizes an annual international competition for prestigious, all-Bavarian MQV doctoral fellowships for outstanding young researchers seeking PhD positions for QST research at any Bavarian university.
