investissements davenirFIRST-TF, which has received the label “Laboratoire d’excellence” by the French government in 2011 is a cluster gathering the main actors in the field of time and frequency metrology: laboratories, industry, technical centres. Beyond the creation of an expertise network, FIRST-TF promotes the emergence of new collaborative projects within a wide spectrum of applications, from fundamental metrology, fundamental physics to global navigation satellite systems. FIRST-TF aims also at increasing the interactions between laboratories and industry, with the will to improve the transfer of technology and know-how. Another important objective of this network is to build innovative education and training offers on T/F metrology, with envisaged thematic extensions to high precision space-time measurements and their applications. Today, about 60 laboratories, companies and technical centres are members of FIRST-TF cluster.
