Located at the interface of alpine environments and global food systems, we explore how sustainability can be translated into practice. Research combines field-based studies in mountain regions with advanced laboratory work, fostering innovative approaches to agriculture, environmental management and food transformation within an internationally connected academic setting.

The Faculty of Design and Art has developed a study model which is based on project work. Here, interdisciplinary approach unites visual communication and product design. In the group of non-state Italian universities, the faculty's bachelor programmes and the master programme were ranked first in the Italian Censis Ranking 2024.

The Faculty was founded in 1998 and now counts more than 1100 students and 60 faculty members who study and work in three languages: German, Italian and English. Research addresses the economic, social and political challenges of the 21st century, supported by close mentoring and excellent global visibility, as reflected in top international and national rankings.
