The GREQAM (research group in quantitative economics of Aix-Marseille), UMR 7316, created in 1996, changes its name. It is now called Aix-Marseille School of Economics. This evolution is a part of a line of excellence wanted by its founders.
Since 2011, the GREQAM carries the AMSE labex project (a project of excellence sponsored by the French government), to unite the economists of Aix-Marseille and to open ever more internationally.
In 2015, the labex AMSE initiates the creation of the School of Economics AMSE (Aix-Marseille School of Economics), within the Faculty of Economics and Management of Aix-Marseille University, as a graduate school.
In 2017, AMSE is labeled Graduate School of Research in which AMSE brings together research, teaching and valorization with, respectively, the Joint Research Unit (UMR 7316) AMSE, Aix-Marseille School of Economics and the Institute of Public Economics (IDEP).
