About us

The University of Luxembourg is an international research university with a distinctly multilingual and interdisciplinary character.

The University of Luxembourg Institute for Digital Ethics (ULIDE) is a transdisciplinary research centre located at the Belval Campus. It interweaves academic discourse, political advice, and vivid communication with the public. ULIDE's transdisciplinary work links Faculties and Interdisciplinary Centres across the University and beyond the boundaries of their respective disciplines.

Drawing on this transdisciplinary approach, ULIDE explores the complex relationship between technology, society and ethics. ULIDE (1) analyses ethical and societal problems emerging with digitalisation and AI, (2) explains and evaluates them both for digital professionals as well as the general public, and (3) advises national stakeholders (government, administration, educational system, private sector) as well as international stakeholders dealing with AI and big data.
