Your Responsibilities

  • Development of processes for the chemical recycling of a range of commercial polymers. This work will intersect catalyst design, recycling process development, and mechanistic study
  • Collaboration on projects on the development of novel polymers from sustainable feedstocks
  • Writing a relevant doctoral thesis at the University of Graz
  • Independent teaching of courses as well as participation in teaching and examination tasks at the institute/center
  • Supervision of students
  • Participation in organizational and administrative tasks as well as in evaluation measures

Your Profile

  • A completed Master’s degree in chemistry, preferably with a focus on organic or inorganic chemistry
  • A strong interest in homogeneous catalysis; prior experience is advantageous but not required
  • Experience in the following areas is advantageous: synthesis of air-sensitive compounds, (de)polymerisation catalysis, and reaction kinetics
  • Experience with the following analytical techniques is advantageous: NMR, GPC/HPLC, and TGA
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively and independently within a diverse, interdisciplinary team, including a willingness to mentor Master’s students

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 52.865,40 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
