Your Responsibilities

  • Independent teaching and examinations amounting to an average of 8 semester hours per week in the field of early modern history or modern history
  • Student support 
  • Independent research and publication activities in the field of early modern history or modern history
  • Participation in third-party funded and research projects of the department
  • Participation in and co-organisation of workshops, symposia and conferences
  • Participation in organizational and administrative tasks as well as in evaluation measures

Your Profile

  • Completed doctoral or PhD degree in the field of early modern history or modern history
  • Geographical and thematic focus on Central Europe and on the history of the Holy Roman Empire or the Habsburg Monarchy (desirable)
  • Experience in teaching at university level, especially in basic teaching
  • Relevant publication record (track record of international publications)
  • Experience with Digital Humanities methods (desirable)
  • Experience in scientific research and project work (desirable)
  • Excellent written and spoken German and English skills
  • Social skills and excitement of working with students
  • Willingness to participate in further training measures of the university

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 70.200,20 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
