Write a dissertation at the University of Graz in the Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences
Participate in research projects in the field of gene regulation and cardiovascular diseases
Plan and evaluate bioinformatic data analysis
Perform bioinformatic analysis for RNA-seq, epigenomic or multiomic data sets in bulk, single cells and/or with spatial resolution.
Participate in developing, optimizing and standardizing analysis code
Participate in setting up online portals for data dissemination
Possibility to perform lab experiments
Present and discuss findings at regular internal and external meetings and conferences
Publication of research results
Supervise students
Teach courses and participate in teaching and examination tasks at the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology
Participate in organizational and administrative tasks as well as in evaluation measures
Your Profile
Completed diploma or master’s degree in the area of life sciences, natural sciences or bioinformatics.
Strong interest in research in the are of gene regulation, epigenetics and cardiovascular diseases
Practical knowledge of bioinformatic data analysis (R, Python)
Practical knowledge in the bioinformatic analysis of gene expression data (bulk and single cells), epigenomics data and/or multiomics data
Basic knowledge of cell biology, molecular biology, and molecular pharmacology (desirable)
Excellent written and spoken English language skills
High level of commitment, personal initiative, and self-motivation for scientific work
High degree of personal responsibility and ability to cooperate
High degree of ability to communicate and work in international and interdisciplinary teams

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 52,007.20 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
