As a Teaching Assistant, you will be deeply involved in the activities of the 4MAT department at ULB. 50% of your time will be devoted to teaching (see courses below) and 50% to your own PhD research work. The teaching duty will mostly involve practical and lab sessions following the philosophy of learning by projects both at the Bachelor and Master’s levels. In addition, you will also be involved in the supervision of Master’s theses. The topic of your PhD thesis will be in line with the scientific expertise of the 4MAT department which can be found https://4mat.polytech.ulb.be. The topic will be discussed with the academic members of the department, so as to best suit your scientific interest and the know-how of the 4MAT department.
Candidates should have an engineering degree in Materials Science.
Skills required
You should be willing to be a cornerstone in the education of our students in the broad field of Materials Science and Chemistry, including energy transition.
Bilingual in French.
Certified B1 English level since you will be involved the Bruface Master’s Programme. An international programme with our sister VUB university.
Results oriented with a will of a fundamental understanding of the relationship between elaboration parameters, properties and end-of-life managing of inorganic materials.
