The UCAM-SENS unit is seeking a highly motivated PhD student to join its cutting-edge research in electrochemical devices. This position focuses on the development of next-generation electrochemical platforms for sensing, energy conversion, and biomedical applications.
UCAM-SENS is a leading research unit dedicated to electrochemical innovation for healthcare, environmental monitoring, and energy solutions. By integrating electrochemistry with advanced materials and engineering, the unit delivers pioneering solutions with real-world impact.
Led by Prof. María Cuartero (ERC Fellow) and Prof. Gaston Crespo, UCAM-SENS fosters research excellence, education, and industry collaboration. The unit operates within HiTech, a research incubator that promotes a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment.
The selected PhD student will contribute to the design, fabrication, and optimization of electrochemical devices, exploring novel electrode materials, miniaturization strategies, and real-time analytical capabilities for diverse applications, including biosensing and energy storage.
We are looking for candidates who:

✔ Are highly motivated, organized, and goal-oriented.
✔ PhD degree (3-4 years) in a highly interdisciplinary and impactful research environment.
