At the Institute of Applied Synthetic Chemistry, in the Research Group for Sustainable Organic Chemistry and Catalysis TU Wien is offering a position as university assistant post-doc (all genders) limited until expected 28.02.2027, or at latest for the duration of the leave of absence for 40 hours/week. Expected start: immediately.

Tasks:

  • Research activities in the field of organic synthesis and the evaluation of pharmaceutically active compounds
  • Development and implementation of sustainable synthetic methods
  • Teaching - specifically covering the fundamentals of chemistry and organic chemistry—and participation in examinations
  • Project work and leadership of project groups
  • Publication of research findings
  • Participation in and organization of scientific events
  • Supervision of students
  • Assistance with organizational and administrative tasks as well as evaluation activities

Your profile:

  • Completion of a relevant doctorate
  • Knowledge of scientific research methods and excellent expertise in the organic synthesis of pharmaceutically active compounds
  • In-depth knowledge of sustainable chemistry utilizing renewable raw materials and ionic liquids
  • Experience in photocatalysis and photocatalytic recycling processes
  • Experience in national and international research cooperation as well as in project management and presentations
  • Interdisciplinary work
  • Experience in teaching and publication activities
  • Organizational and analytical skills as well as a structured way of working
  • Excellent command of the English language (min. C1) and very good communication and team skills
  • Interest in and enjoyment of research and working with / supporting students
  • Ability to work in a team and problem-solving skills

Entry level salary is determined by the pay grade B1 of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. This is a minimum of currently EUR 5,014.30/month gross, 14 times/year for 40 hours/week.
