The Electrical Engineering unit at the Faculty of Information Technology and Communication Sciences (ITC) in the Tampere University invites applications for a Doctoral Researcher position in the field of Power Electronics.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking to hire a Doctoral Researcher for a fixed-term position till 31.3.2028, with the possibility of extension. The purpose of the role is to contribute to advancing academic and industrial knowledge in the field of power electronics. The research focuses on the development, implementation, testing, and monitoring of low- and high-level optimal control methods for the power electronic converter interfacing a hybrid energy storage system (HESS) with the grid.
As a Doctoral Researcher, you will begin by developing and testing control methods in a simulation environment such as MATLAB. In the next phase, the methods will be implemented in a hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulator. Finally, the control strategies will be deployed and validated on a low-voltage laboratory prototype. The results will be disseminated in scientific peer-reviewed journals, international conferences, doctoral network events and events with industry.
The tasks of all Doctoral Researchers may include teaching duties that amount to approximately 5% of their annual working hours, unless there are justified reasons to the contrary.
