Description de l’entité de recherche

The High Throughput Multidisciplinary Research (HTMR) laboratory aims for an interdisciplinary, diverse and cross-cutting approach to an entrepreneurial ecosystem directly related to its industrial and socio-economic environment in Morocco and Africa. HTMR provides highly automated and parallel approaches to the development of new materials and processes. HTMR allows scientists from all UM6P research community to develop automated workflows that ultimately increase precision and efficiency and reduces the time and cost involved in their development pathways. The wide expertise developed by the researchers working at the HTMR, plays a pivotal link between the initial proof of concepts and the consolidation of the results and their viability. Thus, the validation is monitored through design of experiments and optimization of workflows much more rapidly than conventional approaches.

The HTMR is a 100% Applied Sciences research laboratory, and is setting up its first targeted research projects around:

  • Phosphates, intelligent fertilizers, silicon and fluoride-based materials
  • Biomaterials and Industrial By-Products
  • Energy storage (Electrolyte, Electrodes...)
  • Metallurgy & anti-corrosion materials
  • Polymers and composites for advanced applications

Description d¢emploi

We are seeking a motivated postdoctoral fellow in the formulation of bioinsecticides to join our interdisciplinary research team. The successful candidate will: (i) collaborate closely with polymer scientists on innovative matrices for protection and enhancement of microbial agents and their active biomolecules, and (ii) work directly with two PhD students whose projects target the valorisation of Moroccan entomopathogenic microorganisms (EPM) and their bioactive molecules (Ab-EPM). This role offers the opportunity to develop skills in mentorship, advance cutting-edge formulation technologies, and contributes to high-impact publications.

As a postdoctoral fellow in formulation of bioinsecticides, you will:

  • Provide scientific guidance and daily laboratory supervision to PhD students, ensuring their individual work plans are aligned with project objectives.
  • Design and execute Molecular and Phenotypic assays to characterize Moroccan EPM
  • Optimise purification protocols for insecticidal biomolecules at preparative scale
  • Work closely with other team members on the development of micro- and nano-coating protocols using biopolymer and composite materials
  • Evaluate formulations in laboratory and greenhouse.
  • Oversee day-on-day laboratory work, troubleshoot protocol issues, and ensure best practices in biosafety and data management.
  • Analyse data, perform statistical evaluations, and interpret results in the context of sustainable pest management.
  • Contribute to writing manuscripts, presenting at conferences, and supporting future .

Profil recherché Profiles

  • PhD in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Polymer science or related discipline, completed within the last five years
  • Demonstrated experience in microbiological techniques (isolation, culture optimization, scale up and fermentation), and molecular biology techniques.
  • Hands on experience with materials formulation – ideally using biopolymers or nanocomposites
  • Familiarity with chemical extraction, purification and analytical characterization
  • Advanced data analysis and computational skills, familiarity with statistical packages and bioinformatics tools for analysing large datasets
  • Prior mentoring or supervisory experience of master’s students or interns is highly desirable
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and to liaise effectively with external partners.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and problem solving aptitude.
  • Self-motivation and the capacity to drive multiple objectives to completion on deadline.
