Support our IT:U's First Committee for Equality and Women’s Advancement (FCEWA)

IT:U's First Committee for Equality and Women’s Advancement (FCEWA) provides advice and support to members and bodies of the university as regards compliance with equal opportunities and women’s advancement requirements, in particular achieving equitable gender representation. This collegial body requires dedicated research and analytical support to fulfil its statutory monitoring, prevention and enforcement functions under the Affirmative Action Plan (AAP). In this position you will support FCEWA’s work across equality governance, investigation support, policy development and reporting.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing FCEWA’s annual equality report and other reporting obligations

  • Monitor implementation of Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) provisions across IT:U and flag compliance gaps

  • Conduct comparative research on equality governance practices at other Austrian and European universities

  • Assist in drafting FCEWA opinions and communications to university bodies

  • Support FCEWA’s participation in appointment procedures under Article 13 (background research, documentation review)

  • Maintain FCEWA’s case tracking and documentation systems

  • Provide general research and administrative support to FCEWA

Your strengths and skills:

  • Completed university degree in law, public administration or a related field (at least Bachelor’s, also suitable for a student job alongside your Master's)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of equality and anti-discrimination law, in particular the B-GlBG, or willingness to acquire this knowledge rapidly

  • Strong analytical and research skills, including the ability to synthesise complex legal and policy materials
  • Experience in an equality body, ombuds office, victim protection organisation, compliance field or comparable institutional setting is highly beneficial
  • Knowledge of EU equality directives and experience with qualitative and/or quantitative research methods relevant to equality monitoring are a plus
  • English and German language skills at a minimum level of C1 (required for Austrian legal sources and institutional communication)
  • High degree of discretion, integrity and sensitivity in handling confidential matters

Annual gross salary: €19,700 (based on 16 hours per week).
