Job description

A leading general engineering school within IMT (Institut Mines-Télécom), the number one group of engineering schools in France, IMT Atlantique aims to support transitions and train responsible engineers. We place scientific and technical excellence at the service of education, research, and innovation.

As part of the ANR NET4AI project, which aims to make the infrastructures used to train and operate generative AI models more efficient (observability, collective communications, energy efficiency), we are recruiting a post-doctoral researcher within our Automation, Production and IT (DAPI) department, STACK team.

Under the scientific responsibility of Remous-Aris KOUTSIAMANIS and in collaboration with researchers, engineers, and partners of the Net4AI consortium and the SLICES-FR project, you will define and implement a reproducible experimental methodology for evaluating Net4AI mechanisms. You will design and develop automation software bricks (notably via EnOSlib) for the deployment of distributed GenAI workloads. Finally, you will conduct experimental campaigns and actively contribute to the scientific publications and open-source software of the project.

Job requirements

✔️ You have a perfect command of the Python language as well as collaborative development tools such as Git, continuous integration, and automated testing. 

✔️ You also possess solid knowledge of GNU/Linux systems, system administration, and datacenter networks, including routing and performance measurements. 

✔️ You have significant experience in the design of reproducible experiments and are capable of gaining proficiency in specific technologies such as RDMA/RoCE. 

✔️ You demonstrate high autonomy in conducting your work while showing exemplary scientific rigor and a sharp critical mind, particularly concerning the limits of an experiment. 

🇬🇧 You have excellent writing skills in scientific English and communicate with ease, both in writing and orally, to report on your progress within a multi-partner consortium. 

🎓 The sought profile must hold a PhD in Computer Science (or a related discipline) obtained less than 3 years before the hiring date.

 REMUNERATION :

💰 Indicative salary: €35,800 gross per year, depending on profile and experience (reduced employee social security contributions in the public sector).
