to promote their own academic qualifications within the meaning of Section 2 (1) of the German Academic Fixed-Term Contract Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz)

Your tasks

Your job tasks includes the following responsibilities:

• Conducting courses (in particular exercises and seminars) on finance
• Assisting with examinations (pre-correction of written examinations, sitting in on oral examinations, assessment of final papers and seminar papers)
• Independent and team-oriented development of basic and application-oriented research results within one or more of the following research areas:
  • Corporate Fin
  • ESG
  • Financial Markets
  • Disclosures
• Supporting the department with administrative tasks

Your profile

For being part of the selection process is needed:

• Completed scientific university degree (Diploma (Univ.), Master or equivalent degree) with above-average performance, preferably in an economics program (finance, business administration, business informatics, business mathematics, ...)
• Very good English and German language skills (level B2, if German is not your native language)

Following competences are desirable:

• Comprehensive knowledge in finance
• Basic knowledge in at least one of the above-mentioned research areas
• Knowledge in empirical research
• Programming skills in Python and/or R and/or Stata
• Ability to work independently and responsibly in research and teaching as well as aptitude for academic work with the aim of a doctorate

The position comprises at least 50%, but can be extended to 100% for a limited period and, if necessary, in the longer term as part of externally funded projects. There are no plans to split the position between several people.
