Background
The Applied Computer Science Lab of the Digital Future Lab (formerly EDM) has been conducting software-oriented research in computer science for over 30 years. The Digital Future Lab follows the “Combining Applied and Basic Research” (ABC) principle, aiming for fundamental innovations that quickly find their way to the community and end users. This vision has resulted in structural collaborations with Flemish strategic research centers such as iMinds, imec, and Flanders Make.
The research center offers researchers a stimulating, pleasant, and easily accessible work environment where teamwork and well-being are highly valued. Researchers have the opportunity to explore the latest technologies and work with state-of-the-art equipment to support their research.
A position at the Digital Future Lab of UHasselt provides various opportunities for (research) funding. For example, there is BOF-funding specifically aimed at supporting junior professors. In addition, the Computer Science department is committed to assigning a PhD researcher to a new faculty member in the short term, and the collaboration with Flanders Make also offers additional opportunities.
