YOUR TASKS

• As a full-time researcher, you will work on the preparation of a doctoral thesis project in relation to the broader topic of EU external relations and the respect for the rule of law in tghe framework of the project “EU as a global actor and the fitness of the EU constitutional legal order for geopolitical turn”.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• You hold a degree of Master in Law. The degree requirement needs to be fulfilled at the start of your appointment.
• Adequate knowledge of Dutch and English is required.
• Additional relevant (domestic or foreign) education in EU law would be an advantage.
• You have sufficient relevant legal knowledge in light of the content of the position, as evidenced by your degree or professional experience.
• You are interested in scientific and/or project-based research in the field of EU law.
• You intend to write a doctoral thesis in EU law.
• Publications and prior participation in conferences, etc., are recommended.
• You have didactic and communicative skills.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

• We offer you a contract of definite duration for the period from 1 September – 30 September 2025
• Your contract will start on 1/09/2025 at the earliest.
• Your remuneration will be determined by salary scale WM1 to WM4 (if you hold a Master’s degree) or salary scale PD1 to PD4 (if you hold a doctorate).  Click here for more information about our salary scales.
