Description of the research activity:
This research explores the integration of Design for Manufacturability and Design for Constructability to enhance efficiency in prefabrication and on-site assembly. By leveraging Mass Customization, individualized design is synchronized with the production in Engineer-to-Order projects. The research investigates the seamless link between BIM-CAM-Construction, enabling automated workflows from digital models to fabrication and site execution. The project focuses on Digital Assistance Systems in Prefabrication and Construction, optimizing worker guidance, quality control, and operational safety. A key aspect is the maintenance of machines for prefabrication, utilizing predictive maintenance strategies and real-time monitoring to ensure reliability, and enhance overall production efficiency. The final goal of the research project is to develop novel methodologies to improve efficiency and sustainability of prefabrication processes through digital and data-driven strategies.
