The Single Cell Facility (SCF) is a central research and service platform at the Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering (D-BSSE) of the ETH with location in Basel. It is a departmental multi-user facility providing access to a high-end instrument portfolio for optical single cell analysis such as light microscopy and flow cytometry technology. The SCF is part of the D-BSSE's commitment to elucidate the design principles of cells in stochastic environments and their exploitation for network design. The SCF staff works closely with the Lab Automation Facility (LAF) team, which develops and maintains complex robotic setups integrated with readout technologies such as high content imaging for experimental workflows in biology and biochemistry.Please enter text here
The SCF's centralized instrument pool is accompanied by expert service provided by staff who offer instrument training, hardware and software maintenance, instrument operator service, advice on sample preparation, assay design data analysis, and data management. As a member of the SCF, you will perform flow cytometry analysis and cell sorts, instrument maintenance, and user training related to a wide variety of biology and biotechnology projects. The flow cytometry instrument portfolio of the SCF currently consists of 7 sorters and 7 analyzers offering a wide range of high-end features such as spectral and image analysis-based sorting.

This position requires very good communication skills in English to interact with researchers, and a commitment to adapt to the service-oriented nature of the facility to successfully support scientific research and operations at the D-BSSE. In addition to excellent technical skills in the field of flow cytometry, you must be an excellent team player and able to adapt to a diverse working environment.
