Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (~20000 students) is the youngest and fastest growing university in Israel. It is situated in Be’er Sheva in the middle of the Negev desert, a mere hour by train from Tel Aviv and the Mediterranean sea. The surrounding area includes fascinating desert landscapes with their unique geology, archaeology and wildlife, and a fantastic kaleidoscope of ancient and modern society. For those who love nature and travel, we note that the University is located a short drive from Egypt, Jordan, and Jerusalem, the Dead Sea and the beautiful coral reefs of Eilat on the shores of the Red Sea. We should emphasize that while in middle-east, the city of Be'er Sheva is very much safe and the campus is bustling with social life.
