RESEARCH FIELD(S)1: Public law / Parliamentary law
MAIN SUB RESEARCH FIELD OR DISCIPLINES1: juridical science

JOB /OFFER
The R2D2 project (Reforming and Refounding the Decision-Making Process in a Democracy) was selected by an international jury as part of the call for white research projects.

The aim of this project is to propose a revision of the Constitution on decision-making processes based on the work of a think-tank. Its originality lies in both its composition and its working methodology. On the first point, the committee is made up exclusively of AMU academics who are experts in issues relating to decision-making processes in various disciplines. On the second point, the emphasis is on collegiality, both in drawing up an assessment of the dysfunctions and in proposing remedial action based on the theoretical concepts that can be mobilised and the hearing of qualified people, while also involving citizens, the addressees of public decisions, solicited via a website and the press.

The PhD student will be placed under the authority of the RST of the R2D2 project, and will be based at the ILF-GERJC (UMR DICE 7318). The position is located in Aix en Provence but occasional travel to AMU sites may be envisaged.

The doctoral student will be required to write a thesis on the theme of the political deliberative process (Contribution to the study of the political deliberative process).

To this end, in conjunction with the RST, the doctoral student will:

  • supervise and coordinate the project.
  • monitor, implement and coordinate the project, in particular to maintain its scientific coherence outside the committee meeting periods in conjunction with the RST.
  • coordinate the schedule of interviews with qualified persons, carried out by the doctoral students, and the scheduling of committee meetings.
  • collect and standardise all the work carried out by young researchers and participate in the preparation and implementation of the interviews of qualified persons.
  • work with the RST and the committee to organise scientific events and disseminate results.
  • enrich the website with the various contributions and disseminate them.
    • use research analysis and management tools.
    • search for data on institutional sites.
    • collect statistical data to feed analysis and research.
    • monitor and update data.
