Our department
The Department of Architecture aims to be a leading provider of education and research in the Built Environment. Even prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, challenges were arising regarding the relationships between the built environment and health, particularly in the context of climate change. The need to design buildings and urban environments to enhance occupants’ health is now fundamental.
We are looking for an early career researcher who has expertise in this area and who is also able to use this knowledge to inform teaching and practice. We are particularly interested in candidates who have modelling and simulation skills and an understanding of BIM in this context. This post will expand on recent appointments to build substantial world leading expertise in this area which is of strategic importance to the Institution and Society as a whole.
The opportunity
We would love to hear from you if you have a PhD and postdoctoral research experience; an emerging publication history in high quality academic journals; and research interests which align with this area of strategic priority – particularly if you already hold an external fellowship that can be transferred to us.
In keeping with our commitment to equality and diversity, we encourage applications from all sections of the community, particularly those who can support our Athena SWAN activity, which inspires the advancement and representation of women in higher education. For more information on diversity and inclusion at Strathclyde, please see here.
* Your Fellowship will normally be at lecturer level (exceptionally, at senior lecturer (Grade 9) (£52,560 - £59,135) where you have a strong track record in research leadership) for 5 years, with the expectation that you’ll meet our promotion criteria within that period and be transferred to senior lecturer (or, where you’ve been appointed as a senior lecturer, Reader) level.
For further details and to apply to be a ‘Strathclyder’ in Architecture, impress us with your research plan here.
