Professor in the Faculty of Information and Communication Sciences, specializing in film studies

The person selected will join the UOC's Faculty of Information and Communication Sciences as a professor specializing in film studies.

Responsibilities:

UOC faculty, in their respective fields of expertise, promote and direct distance learning. Particular attention must be given to the preparation of programmes of study, course contents and teaching materials, as well as the supervision and coordination of students' learning processes. Faculty members are also responsible for driving innovation, especially in terms of the methods and techniques used in distance learning and the research activities in their fields of expertise.

The successful candidate will be awarded an open-ended, full-time contract, and should be available to start immediately.

The work place will be at the UOC's Tibidabo centre, at Avinguda Tibidabo 39-43, Barcelona.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate and doctoral degrees in any of the following: Film Studies, Audiovisual Media, Communications, Art History, Fine Arts (or similar).
  • Teaching experience.
  • History of research work with publications on film studies or related areas.
  • Command of tools and software for online collaborative work.
  • English language skills at CEFR level B2.
  • Ability to lead projects and work in interdisciplinary teams.
  • High-level communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of initiative, creativity and ability to work in innovative environments.
  • A continuous improvement approach.

Also of interest:

  • Experience in university teaching methodology, ie course design, planning and running of teaching activities, and design of teaching materials and assessment tools.
  • Experience in research and/or innovation projects in the specified field of knowledge.
  • Network of relationships with institutions in the field, and experience in the professional sphere.
  • Accreditations of research and/or six-year research programmes.
  • Experience of teaching or research abroad / research stays abroad.
  • Knowledge of the UOC's educational model.
  • Experience of online learning environments.
