The Institute for Technological Research (IPT) makes public the opening of applications for a postdoctoral fellowship of the Data Science and Computer Vision theme. The objective of the research project is to develop an urban forest management system.
We are looking for a candidate interested in developing a research project that fits into the theme of Digital Transformation by addressing the Smart and Sustainable Cities. This project aims to develop an automated tool for the risk of falling trees in urban conditions and the conservation status of forest fragments.
We are seeking PhD candidates in Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering and experience with machine learning techniques, including Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and other Deep Learning techniques for pattern recognition in images. The candidate must prove professional or academic experience (proven through publications) with subjects related to Computer Vision and Machine Learning. Skills in programming languages (python and C ++) and fluent English Language are required.
The selected candidate should be working in collaboration with teams of academics and researchers will be based in the Department of Computing of Federal University of São Carlos (DC/UFSCar), São Paulo State, Brazil.
