YOUR TASKS

  • MEDISIP-UGent is developing an innovative, cost-efficient Total-Body PET scanner – the Walk-Through PET (WT-PET, https://www.wt-pet.org/) – consisting of two vertical flat panels for simultaneous imaging of the head and torso in upright patients.
  • Nowadays, a PET scanner is almost always combined with a CT system for anatomical image correlation. Therefore, we will build a CT extension for patients in standing position with this position. A platform will move the patient sideways to obtain the CT image after the PET scan.
  • Finally, motion minimization and motion detection methods will be designed to guarantee optimal image quality and registration between PET and CT.
  • Supervision of Master and PhD students working on Walk-Through PET-CT.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • You hold a Doctorate in  Biomedical engineering
  • Experience in deep learning, Monte Carlo simulation, image reconstruction and image processing

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

  • We offer you a contract of definite duration for the period from 1 year and 9 months.
  •  Your contract will start on the first of November 2024 at the earliest
